Design through the week
Hi blog friends! Today I have something special for you! I don’t typically share my own design work on this platform, but I’m hoping it’s as much of a treat for you as it is for me! This week I’ve been hard at work designing and editing all sorts of things. Last Friday I didn’t feel accomplished, but I’m glad it’s Friday this week! Here’s a sneak peek of what my design life consisted of this week.
This banner broke my can’t-design-worth-anything streak. My cure was a healthy dose of coffee and a inspiration session that consisted of sitting on the floor at Borders, looking through design books, and sketching. Sometimes a little inspiration goes a long way. By the way, I’ve heard of designers who work their butts off for a few years and then take a few years off, only to start the cycle over again. I can see why they do this.
This is an invitation that I designed for a surprise birthday party. They’re celebrating by going to a Giant’s game, hence the orange/ blackĀ palette. All personal information was changed to protect their identity (and save the surprise… just in case)
This piece is another invitation that will be sent out as an html email. I received (almost) final approval this week. Again, the information has been changed.
Although hard to read here, it’s much more legible in person. This is a simple design I threw together for my cup cozy line. I’m not happy with the branding though, so I will be changing it soon. That’s what happens when you design for yourself.
This is the front of a business card for Mologics. It went to print this week. I designed the logo, but we are currently rebranding to be more in line with the mission of the company. If you need computer work, I know a good guy (who is also my finace!).
We finalized the design and content this week on Karen’s website. This has been an on-going project and we hit a huge mark this week!
This project was one of the most fun this week! I designed a tri jersey for Bree’s (my soon-to-be sister) boyfriend. I drew him as secret santa this Christmas and this was part of my present to him. We worked together on the logo, design, and colorĀ palette. I think he’s going to look pretty darn good! I can’t wait to see it.
I was able to set a little time aside to edit photos of cute Olivia. How could you not melt seeing those adorable cheeks? Maybe her mom will get a CD full of photos this weekend!
Last, but not least I designed the Foothills Christian Church eNews. This is a weekly assignment that I usually work on every Friday. This week there was a lot of news to share.
Of course I have a few other projects in the making. If you enjoyed this post, maybe I will do the same next week. Have a fun and exciting weekend! Stay safe.
xoxo, Lauren

These are amazing, Lauren!!! I love it. You should share your work more often on here… It’s ok to “show off” sometimes! You are so talented.
Thanks you guys!
I love getting positive responses!
Amazing stuff! Wow, that seems like a lot of creating for one week. I’m a fan.
