Kerning Game
I’m redeeming my mean Comic Sans post! Here’s another fun game (found via How about Orange) that makes a game out of practicing your kerning skills. Kerning is the act of formatting the spacing between letters. Sometimes when typing out a word, the spacing between the lettering isn’t perfect due to the shapes of the letters. Graphic designers spend time fixing those little spaces so your newsletters, logos, and brochures look beautiful! Yes, it does sound a little crazy that people, like me, actually care about those little spaces! But, we do!

Kill Comic Sans
I found this game a day too late. Yesterday was a long and challenging day. I happen to like days like that every once in a while. But, I could have taken a little break to play this game, “Kill Comic Sans.” If you’re not a designer, you probably don’t understand our overall hatred of this scribbly puny font. But, we (as in all great designers) hate it. No offense, Vincent Connare. You had no idea you were creating a font that would be the most hated font of all time. I suggest never using it. Ever. Unless it’s for something you are going to hang in a dark closet that no one will see. That’s pretty much the only time it’s appropriate to use it. Have fun playing. Click here to play.
